Hina Patel Foundation for Sickle Cell is funded by the private gifts of individuals, churches, businesses and foundations. HPF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization – all gifts are tax-deductible.

Participate in our annual Sickle Cell awareness walk held in September. Bring your friends and family to enjoy fun-filled activities, learn more about Sickle Cell Disease, and give hope to suffering individuals.

70% of all patients who need a transplant don’t have a fully matched donor in their family. A patient’s likelihood of finding a matching donor on the Be The Match Registry is estimated to range from 60-97%, depending on ethnic background. Because of you, more patients will be able to receive a life-saving transplant. Click the section title for more information.

Blood transfusion is an effective and proven treatment in managing Sickle Cell Disease. In Kern County, the nonprofit Houchin Community Blood Bank has a new state-of-the-art location at 11515 Bolthouse Drive, one in the Seven Oaks Business Park, and donor services also continuing at 5901 Truxtun Avenue.
